Words of Gratitude

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Pigg,

Hi, this is Symphony Trimble. I hope you received the letter I sent you this past December expressing my gratitude for your letter and gift. I would love to share a little bit more about myself. I am from Champaign, Illinois, where I grew up with my parents and older sister. My parents owned a dance studio, so I grew up dancing and used movement as my outlet and form of expression almost every day.

I chose to leave my hometown for college, desiring a small, Christian university in a big city where I could grow in my faith and explore more of the world. The Lord led me to Lipscomb University, where I completed my Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science, which allowed me to grow in my passion for exercise, movement, health, and wellness. This time at Lipscomb was transformative for me personally and spiritually, so I felt a strong call to stay in Nashville to pursue my physical therapy degree at Belmont University.

After reflecting on the transformation that happened to my heart at Lipscomb University, I was very excited to begin my journey at Belmont University. This time at Belmont has left a very big impact on my life. I have never felt so loved as I do by the people I have met through attending Belmont, including my classmates, professors, and Sara’s Story. Belmont truly is a family. I have gotten to grow in sweet friendships, attend meals and Bible studies at professors’ homes, volunteer with others, travel on a mission trip with my program, learn in a Christian environment, and attend church with a large group of my classmates.

The people at Belmont have helped me stay focused on my true identity found in Christ rather than just being a physical therapy student in this season of my life. It has helped me stay fixated on what is most important, and I am forever grateful for this school.

After I graduate, I hope to stay in Nashville to work as a physical therapist. I am overjoyed to be on this journey with the goal of serving and educating individuals, restoring movement and quality of life, and helping people find hope for their future. This scholarship has provided me with reassurance that I am where the Lord wants me to be.

I am so grateful to have received it. Sara’s Story has given me hope, and I make it a mission to spread this hope to others and shine Jesus’ light and love in this world as I live in it. I want to continually be filled with Jesus’ grace and love in order to pour it out to those around me. Thank you for your generosity in supporting this scholarship. You have touched many lives through your kindness, charity, and love.

Sincerely,
Symphony Trimble
