Serving With Purpose and Compassion Through Faith Driven Action and Service
Our Mission
The Sara Walker Foundation is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ as taught in the Holy Bible, while also ministering to the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of individuals around the world. Established in December 2012, four months after Sara Walker passed away following a courageous battle with cancer, the Foundation exists to bring encouragement and hope to those who are lost and hurting.
Our Legacy
It is our goal to continue Sara Walker’s legacy of compassion, faith, and encouragement. The Foundation was formed by those who knew her best, including her physical family, church family, and Physical Therapy colleagues, all of whom share a commitment to continuing Sara’s passion for serving His Kingdom.
We find no coincidence in the fact that Sara’s earthly battle ended and she received her heavenly reward on August 28, 2012. The Foundation lives by God’s promise in Romans 8:28, trusting that all things work together for good for those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose.
Our Impact
Since our establishment, God has allowed the Sara Walker Foundation to provide financial aid for medical and educational missions in Malawi, Africa. These efforts include funding the completion of the Sara Walker Village, which houses missionaries serving through Blessings Hospital and Mtendere Orphanage, as well as fully funding a mobile medical unit that delivers much needed medical care and supplies to remote villages surrounding Blessings Hospital.
In 2016, the Foundation began a partnership with The Pearl House in Ghana, Africa, a home for 20 young women rescued from extreme poverty and provided with a Christian education. Through this partnership, the Foundation helped complete the girls’ new home and establish the Sara Walker Library, a dedicated space where the girls can study and access the tools they need to succeed academically. In addition to overseas missions, the Foundation also partners with Belmont University School of Physical Therapy through the Sara Walker Memorial Scholarship, awarded to third year students who demonstrate the same outstanding qualities Sara displayed during her time at Belmont.
